Insulin spike means your body can”t or doesn’t use your fat stores optimally and that is what you need to use when you’re doing an endurance race. That is your most important source of energy. Is that what you’re saying?
When people are deserted in the desert with no food they use their fat stores to survive. There have been cases of people in the desert (recently I saw on I Shouldn’t Be Alive, Animal Planet I believe) and they had to tighten their belts daily because their body was using their fat stores, getting smaller losing weight.
So when people say earn your carbs, they are wrong because what they are doing is having an insulin spike which is making the body use that as fuel and not their fat stores. So if one is wishing to lose weight then that would be a MAJOR mistake, correct? Eating carbs after working out. Also, if you want to do an endurance event that means you have to train your body to use your fat stores optimally. So how is that done? Just eat loads of fat? Healthy of course.
If you can optimize your fat stores for energy, that means that you can do any sport for long periods of time without a hitch. If everything else is order: muscle, strength, skill…
That is a good tip especially to those new to the blogosphere.
Brief but very accurate info… Thank you for sharing this one.
A must read post!
